Mar. 13, 2001 – Fullerton, Calif.

Fourteen different Titans collected hits as the Cal State Fullerton baseball team beat Hosei University of Japan, 14-5, in an exhibition game at Goodwin Field Tuesday night.

Hosei scored four unearned runs in the top of the first, but the Titans scored nine runs in the first three innings and added five more in the fifth.

Included among the Titans’ 19-hit onslaught were four triples and six doubles. Mike Rouse and Shawn Norris each had two hits, two runs and two RBI and Aaron Rifkin doubled twice.

Fullerton starter Travis Ingle, designated before the game to throw less than five innings, picked up the win after allowing four unearned runs on five hits over three innings. Wes Littleton and Chad Cordero combined to allow just one unearned run on four hits over the final six innings.

The 24th-ranked Titans (11-8), winners of their last three and five of their last six, will host Cal Poly in a nonconference series this weekend at Goodwin Field
