TITANS ’00: Lived up to his third-team Collegiate Baseball preseason All-American tabbing with a solid junior season • Started 57 games, all at second base • Picked to the first-team All-Big West Conference for the third straight season (becoming just the fifth conference player and the first Titan to accomplish that feat) • Was first on the Titans in runs (62), hits (83), doubles (20), total bases (112), walks (39), hit by pitch (10) and stolen bases (25) • Led the conference in stolen bases • Finished just four RBI off the team lead despite batting in the leadoff spot in 56 of the Titans’ 59 games • Batted .387 against right-handers and .377 with runners in scoring position • Reached base 49 percent of the times he led off an inning (47-for-97) • Had a team-high 27 multiple-hit games (17 two-hit, eight three-hit, one four-hit and one five-hit) and scored two or more runs 18 times (the Titans were 15-3 on those occasions) • Surpassed Cal State Fullerton’s career hit by pitch record of 45, set by C.J. Ankrum from 1995-97 (Bacani finished with 50) • Hit safely in 43 of 57 starts • Put up remarkable numbers on the Titans’ seven-game road trip to Nevada, Oklahoma and New Mexico State, when he batted .545 (18-for-33) with two home runs, seven doubles, 15 RBI and 10 runs • Had three doubles and six RBI against New Mexico State on March 30 and had five hits (plus a walk) against the Aggies the following day • Collected four walks against Sacramento State on April 7 • Never saw his average dip below .350 after March 25 • Batted .408 with 31 RBI and 40 runs scored in the Titans’ 30 Big West Conference games • One of the steadiest second basemen in the nation • Posted a .979 fielding percentage (just six errors in 281 chances) and turned a team-high 32 double plays.

J. Ankrum in 1995) • Longest hitting streak of season was eight games from March 3 thru 15 (10-for-23, .435) • Also had seven-game and six-game streaks • Had five RBI at Fresno State on Feb. 15 • Had four three-hit games • Batted .368 (7-for-19) in the NCAA Regional at LSU.
