Was a two-year varsity letterman for Coach Ken Kenorena • Finished with the highest career batting average (.486) in school history • Had a fantastic senior season, which earned him Del Rey League MVP, first-team All-CIF and first-team All-San Gabriel Valley honors • Batted .520 (52-for-100) with 11 doubles, four triples, nine home runs and 53 RBI • Set single-season school records for home runs, doubles, total bases (98) and hits (52) • Batted .447 with a pair of home runs and 20 RBI his junior year • Highlight was a grand slam against Rialto in the Chino Tournament.

PERSONAL: Born on April 18, 1982, in Bellflower, Calif. • Parents are Richard and Mary Burgos • Has a younger brother (Paul) and two younger sisters (Nicole and Salina) • Major is undeclared • Was a member of the 1999 Babe Ruth World Series champions • Chose Cal State Fullerton over USC and San Jose State • Most prized possessions are his golf clubs and his car • Favorite athlete is Troy Glaus • Favorite movie is Weird Science and favorite TV show is That 70’s Show • Played for the El Monte Dukes last summer.
