Costa Named to Stanford All-Regional Team June 2, 2002– Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton outfielder Shane Costa was the lone Titan named to
the Stanford NCAA Regional all-tournament team.
Costa batted .333 (4-for-12) with an RBI, two runs, a pair of sac bunts
and a stolen base over the Titans' three regional games. The sophomore
was also named to the all-tournament team at the Fullerton regional as
a freshman, when he batted .800 (8-for-10) and had three doubles in one
game.
Fullerton went 1-2 at the regional, sandwiching a win over San Jose State
around losses to Stanford and Long Beach State. The Titans finished the
season with a 37-22 record.
