Titans Add Two More to List of Baseball Signees July 22, 2002 Fullerton, Calif.
Shortstop Neil Walton and infielder Ronnie Prettyman have signed letters
of intent to play baseball at Cal State Fullerton next season, the Titan
baseball office announced today.
Walton, a 6-5, 180-pound right-handed hitter out of Santa Cruz H.S., was
the MVP of his league as a senior. He was selected by San Francisco in
the 23rd round of last month's Major League
Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
"Neil has big-time potential and could be a legitimate power threat
for us," said Cal State Fullerton recruiting coordinator Dave Serrano.
Prettyman, a left-handed hitter, will transfer to the Titans from Cerritos
College with three years of eligibility remaining. He prepped at Los Alamitos
H.S., where he was also a standout basketball player.
"He has the chance to provided some much-needed pop from the left
side of the plate," said Serrano. "We hope he can step in and
fill that role."
