Stringfellow Named Big West Player of the Week
May 6, 2002– Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton outfielder Chris Stringfellow has been named the Big West Conference Player of the Week, the Irvine-based conference office announced today.

Stringfellow, a senior out of Vista, Calif. batted .500 (6-for-12) in the UC Irvine series last weekend with a team-high nine RBI. Stringfellow hit for the cycle on the weekend while slugging 1.000 and scoring four runs.

He went 4-for-5 in the series opener with a double, two runs and two RBI. He had a two-run triple in the second inning of Saturday's game which gave the Titans their only lead of the game. But he saved the best for last, blasting a first-inning grand slam (the first slam by a Titan in more than two years) and driving in a career-high five runs in Sunday's 12-5 win.

The Titans will travel to Pepperdine for a 3 p.m. game on Tuesday before hosting UC Riverside in a Big West Conference weekend series.
