TITANS 01: Appeared in 63 games and started 53, including 43 of the final 44 games Titans were 40-13 when he started (meaning they were 8-5 when he didnt) Batted .345 (third on the team) with four homers and 36 RBI Was the teams second-best hitter (.439 average) with runners in scoring position Had 24 multiple-hit games, including five consecutive two-hit games from April 27 through May 2 Hit four home runs in the month of April after hitting just one in his first 109 career games Ignited a seven-game hitting streak while the Titans were in Miami, which saw his average go from .286 to .370 Was batting as high as .383 in early May before a 4-for-28 finish to the regular season Went 3-for-3 with two walks and four runs in a 20-2 win over Sacramento State on April 12 Was 3-for-5 with a career-high four RBI as the Titans beat Loyola Marymount, 9-5 on April 17 Tied a career-high with four hits and scored the winning run on Shane Costas two-out single in the bottom of the 14th vs. UCLA on April 18 Was 6-for-11 with two homers, seven RBI and three runs in the UC Riverside series Twice combined with Matt Belfanti on back-to-back homers Made several spectacular plays, including a leaping catch at the wall vs. UC Santa Barbara on May 11 Racked up three two-hit games in the NCAA Regional Was 4-for-5 with two runs in the super regional opener vs. Mississippi State on June 1 Will probably forever be remembered for the full-extension diving catch he made for the final out of the Titans super regional championship against the Bulldogs on June 2. TITANS 00: Had a breakthrough sophomore season after establishing himself as the starting center fielder Started 56 games, including the final 44 of the season, in center field Was one of just two Titan position players (along with David Bacani) to earn first-team all-Big West Conference honors Was third on the team with a .351 batting average (it never dropped below .348 after Feb. 29) Also tied for third with 34 RBI, despite batting in the ninth spot in 49 of 56 starts Named Big West Conference Player of the Week (3/27) for his efforts in the Titans three-game sweep at Nevada, when he went 8-for-14 with six RBI and five runs Batted a team-high .463 (25-for-54) with runners in scoring position Tied for the conference lead with 10 sacrifice bunts Tied for fourth on the team with 17 multiple-hit games and was second with 10 multiple-RBI games Had a 10-game hitting streak (second longest by a Titan in 2000), during which he batted .436 (17-for-39) with 12 RBI and 15 runs Had one of the strangest line scores of the season vs. Pacific on May 14 (0-for-2 with three RBI and four runs he was hit by three pitches and walked once) Had just three errors in 127 chances (.976 fielding percentage) and five outfield assists.
