BAYLOR UNIVERSITY: Saw minimal playing time for Coach Steve Smith at Baylor in 1999 • Had a 37.80 ERA in 1.2 innings of work.

MILLIKAN H.S.: Was a three-year all-league pitcher at Millikan H.S. in Long Beach, Calif. • Had a 25-5 career record • Was 7-1 with a 1.75 ERA his senior season, 11-3, 2.28 his junior season and 7-1, 1.71 as a sophomore • Was a four-year honor roll member and earned his school’s 1995 English Medal of Merit.
