Costa Named Big West Player of the Week
Apr. 21, 2003– Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton junior outfielder Shane Costa (Visalia, Calif.) has been named the Big West Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in the Titans' four wins last week.

Costa batted .563 in the Titans' four games last week with four doubles, seven runs and six RBI. Over the final two games of the UCSB series, Costa reached based in nine of 11 appearances, including all five appearances in the series finale.

Costa also extended his Big West-leading total in doubles (21) and stolen bases (21) and moved into a tie with teammate Danny Dorn for most HBP (14) with three on the weekend.

The second-team preseason All-American earned Big West Player of the Week honors three times last season and once earlier this year.
