Jason Windsor, Travis Ingle and Sean Martin combined on a four-hit shutout
as sixth-ranked Cal State Fullerton blanked Cal State Northridge, 10-0,
in a nonconference game at Goodwin Field Friday night.
The Titans improved to 19-5 overall while the Matadors dropped to 5-22.
Windsor, who allowed just three hits in six innings while striking out
eight and walking one, improved to 4-1. He retired the last 12 batters
he faced before Ingle made his season debut in the seventh inning and
pitched a pair of no-hit innings.
The Titans scored at least one run in five consecutive innings. Justin
Tuner got things going with a two-run single in the second off Northridge
starter Nathan Hochgesang (0-3).
Richie Burgos had three hits to pace a 13-hit Titan attack. Danny Dorn,
P.J. Pilittere and Turner each had a pair of hits for Fullerton.
The teams will continue their three-game series at Goodwin Field on Saturday
at 6 p.m.
