Fullerton Wins Series with 13-4 Rout of Northridge Apr. 13, 2003 Northridge, Calif.

Richie Burgos and Danny Dorn each homered and drove in four runs and Jason
Windsor pitched six strong innings as No. 2 Cal State Fullerton routed
Cal State Northridge, 13-4, Sunday to take the Big West Conference series
at Matador Field.
The Titans, who have won eight of their nine series this year, improved
to 30-8 overall and moved back into sole possession of first place in
the Big West with a 5-1 mark. Northridge fell to 8-32 overall and 2-4
in Big West play.
Fullerton banged out 15 hits on the day, with Burgos, Dorn, Shane Costa,
P.J. Pilittere and Sergio Pedroza each collecting multiple hits. Dorn
singled in a run, had a two-run homer and tripled off the center field
fence to drive in another run. Burgos had a three-run opposite field blast
in the third and singled in a run in the fifth.
Windsor allowed just a run on six hits to improve to 5-1. His Big West-leading
ERA actually went up to 1.42. Ricky Romero allowed a pair of
solo homers in 2.2 innings of work before John Tucker struck out Aaron
McKenzie for the final out.
Fullerton never trailed after grabbing a 2-0 lead in the second, courtesy
of an RBI-double by Pilittere and an RBI-single by Justin Smyres. The
Titans had three three-run innings and two two-run frames.
Fullerton will host UCLA on Tuesday in a make-up of the Feb. 12 game that
was rained out. The Titans will then host UC Santa Barbara in a three-game
Big West series that begins Thursday night at 7 p.m.
