CSF to Host Baseball Regional for Third Time
May 25, 2003 – Fullerton, Calif.

For the third time in four years, Cal State Fullerton will host an NCAA baseball regional, the NCAA announced Sunday afternoon. The complete 64-team field and eight national seeds will be announced on ESPN2 on Monday at 9:30 a.m. PDT.

Other schools hosting regionals are Arizona State, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Long Beach State, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Rice, Southern Mississippi, Stanford, Texas and Texas A&M.

Regional competition at Goodwin Field will begin Friday at 3 p.m. The host Titans will play their first game at 7 p.m. on Friday. Game action in the four-team double elimination format continues on Saturday and concludes on Sunday. The winner advances to a best-of-three super regional with a College World Series berth on the line.

The Titans, who finished the regular season with a 43-13 record, finished second at the 2000 regional at Goodwin Field, but won a regional and super regional at home in 2001 en route to the College World Series.
