Ramirez the Latest Titan Called up to Majors
Apr. 28, 2003 – Fullerton, Calif.

Former Cal State Fullerton pitcher Erasmo Ramirez has been promoted to the Texas Rangers and is the third former Titan in the last month to be called up to the Major Leagues.

The Rangers purchased the contract of Ramirez, a lefthanded relief pitcher, from Double-A Frisco. He has also spent time at Triple-A Oklahoma this season.

Ramirez pitched at Fullerton in 1998, posting an 11-5 record and 3.66 ERA. Should he see action, Ramirez would become the 38th former Titan to appear in a Major League game.

Former Titans Reed Johnson (Toronto) and Luis Estella (San Francisco) were also called up by their respective Major League clubs in the last three weeks, though Estrella was optioned back down before making an appearance.
