TITANS ’02: Saw his role change after starting the Titans’ first 17 games in right field • Started just once after April 9 and was just 2-for-10 with an RBI over that same span • Was the Titans’ cleanup hitter in the first 17 games, but not a prototypical one: he led the team in stolen bases over that period, but did not hit a home run • Had an eight-game hitting streak snapped vs. USC on Mar. 3 and then went 0-for-7 with three strikeouts in the Titans’ 15-inning loss at Wichita State on Mar. 8 • Struck out in about a third of his at bats (34-of-109) • Stranded 46 runners, second most on the Titans (his batting average with the bases empty was 72 points higher than with runners on base) • Among the top 10 in the conference with four sacrifice flies • Had career highs in hits (three) and RBI (four) in a 13-1 win over UNLV on Feb. 17 • Scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth at Loyola Marymount on Feb. 19 • Went 2-for-5 with a two-run triple that broke open a 17-11 win over Fresno State on Feb. 9 • Was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and three runs in a 22-0 shelling of Sacramento State on April 7.

TITANS ’01: Appeared in 27 games and started 13 (but none after April 7) • Batted .220 with a homer and four RBI • Had just five at-bats over the Titans’ final 34 games and did not have a hit in those at-bats • After going 0-for-2 vs. Stanford in his collegiate debut, he put together a seven-game hitting streak • Hit his first and only home run (a three-run shot) in support of Kirk Saarloos’ near perfect game vs. BYU on Feb. 17 • Had his lone multi-hit game at Baylor on Feb. 11 • Had his first career hit – a double – to lead off the top of the ninth in a tie game at USC on Feb. 6 • Struck out 21 times in his 50 at-bats • His only appearance at the College World Series came in the ninth inning vs. Tulane, when he entered as a pinch-runner and scored on a double.

TEMECULA VALLEY H.S.: Was a teammate of Darric Merrell at Temecula Valley H.S., where he played for Coach Rich Emard • Earned four letters while helping his teams to a combined 83-29 record over the four-year stretch • Led the Golden Bears to a 26-4 overall record and the CIF Division I semifinals his senior year • A two-time first-team All-CIF selection • Named MVP of the Sunbelt League his junior year, when he batted .565 with seven home runs, 33 RBI and 15 stolen bases • Batted .515 his senior year with 11 home runs, 38 RBI and 27 stolen bases • Tied a school-record with 50 hits • Went 4-for-4 with four home runs (all more than 400 feet) against Hawthorne in a first-round CIF playoff game his senior season • Finished with 23 career homers • Also played football and basketball.
