Was a three-year player at Diamond Bar (Calif.) H.S., where he was teammates with Dustin Miller • Named the Inland Valley Player of the Year as a senior, when he batted .530 with 11 homers and 50 RBI while also garnering first-team All-Sierra League and first-team All-San Gabriel Valley honors • Limited to six games his junior season • Batted .447 as a sophomore, when he was named second-team all-league • Also a first-team all-league free safety and punter for the Brahmas • His baseball and football proficiency was enough to earn Diamond Bar Athlete of the Year honors • Was a four-year honor roll member and was selected to six academic all-league teams • Was a Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee.

PERSONAL: Born on July 20, 1984, in San Dimas, Calif. • Parents are Mike and Fran Dorn • Has two older siblings (Kim and Nick) and a younger one (Megan) • Majoring in business • Lists his strangest summer job as selling ice cream at Anaheim Angels baseball games • Says the most interesting fact about himself is that he can throw a football right-handed • Was a high school teammate of Stanford 6-9 sophomore righthander Mark Jecmen • Favorites…Jim Edmonds (player), Anaheim Angels (team), spaghetti (food), Dumb and Dumber (movie), University 100 (class).
