Cypress, Calif.
Cypress H.S.

TITANS ’02: Developed into one of the top set-up men in the Big West Conference • Opponents batted just .226 and he allowed just one homer in 54.0 innings • In his 17 relief appearances, he retired the first batter he faced 15 times • Allowed just three of 18 inherited runners to score • Was really only “roughed up” once in his 22 outings, when UC Riverside scored five runs on six hits in just three innings on May 12 in his first (and only) weekend start • Started four other times, combining for a 2.81 ERA in those appearances • Pitched 1.1 scoreless innings vs. LMU on Feb. 19 to buy time for the Titans, who rallied in the ninth for the win • Was the fourth of five pitchers used in a 17-1 loss to Stanford on Feb. 2 and was the only one to hold the Cardinal scoreless, allowing a hit and a walk in an inning of work • Pitched 3.1 innings of one-hit, scoreless ball in relief of Darric Merrell in the Titans’ season-ending 4-0 loss to Long Beach State on June 1 • Did not give up a run over his final eight innings of work (spanning four appearances).

TITANS ’01:
Appeared in a pair of games for the Titans, posting a 9.00 ERA in 3.0 innings of work • Struggled a bit with his control, walking four batters and hitting three more • Gave up three runs on two hits in 1.2 innings against Long Beach State on March 4 • Pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in the Titans’ marathon 14-inning win over UCLA on April 18.

CYPRESS H.S.:
Played for Coach Mark Steinert at Cypress H.S. in Cypress, Calif. • Had a good sophomore season and outstanding junior season before an injury sidelined him for his senior year • Named team Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-Empire League after posting an 8-3 record, 3.71 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 60.1 innings during his junior season • Opposing batters hit just .210 against him • Struck out eight and scattered three hits while pitching Cypress to a 4-3 win over University in the first round of the CIF playoffs • His sophomore season, he was 2-5 with a 4.97 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 31 innings • Pitched a no-hitter (seven innings) and struck out nine against Century as a sophomore • Was a scholar-athlete all four years.

PERSONAL:
Born on July 14, 1981, in Long Beach, Calif. • Parents are Gregory and Bonnie Ingle • Has a younger sister (Heather) • Major is undecided • Also considered attending Long Beach State, Texas and Arizona • Biggest sports thrill to date was winning the Mickey Mantle World Series • Would like to see LSU added to the Titans’ schedule • Says his dad has had the greatest influence on his career • Enjoys working on trucks • Would like to meet Nolan Ryan • Loves working with children and his favorite class is Child Adolescent Studies • Says he’s better than anyone else at making people laugh...but he’s never been able to sit still • Strangest summer job was building patios • If he’s not in the majors in 10 years, he hopes to own his own business and be married with two kids • Best advice to kids is “Play catch and stay away from breaking balls!” • Favorites...L.A. Dodgers (team), Ken Griffey Jr. (player), Pepe’s breakfast burrito (food), The Hobbit (book), Dumb and Dumber (movie).
