Offense Erupts Again as Titans Win Fifth in a Row Apr. 13, 2004 -- Fullerton, Calif.
Justin Turner had three hits and Kurt Suzuki and Danny Dorn each drove
in three runs Tuesday night to lead Cal State Fullerton to its fifth consecutive
victory, a 12-1 non-conference decision over visiting Loyola Marymount.
Ryan Schreppel (3-2) pitched 3.2 innings of 2-hit shutout relief to get
the win, which improved the Titans' record to 20-16. LMU starter Blake
Feaser (2-1) took the loss as the Lions dropped to 20-16-1.
Fullerton has outscored the opposition 63-10 during the current streak.
A 5-run second inning broke this one open after each team had tallied
a run in the first. Blake Davis produced the go-ahead run when he walked,
went to third on a throwing error by Feaser and scored on a wild pitch.
A walk and a single by Turner chased Feaser and Gabriel Bueno came on
to surrender four more hits in the inning.
The Titans added two runs in the fifth and three in the seventh featuring
a 2-run single by Dorn.
James Cooper singled home Billy Lockin for the lone Lions' run.
Fullerton opens the home portion of its Big West Conference schedule this
weekend with a 3-game series against Cal State Northridge. LMU plays at
Santa Clara.
