Suzuki and Windsor Tabbed All-Americans June 17, 2004 Omaha, Neb.
Kurt Suzuki has been named a first-team All-American by Baseball America
and Jason Windsor was tabbed a second-team pick by the North Carolina-based
publication.
Suzuki has already been tabbed a first-teamer by Collegiate Baseball and
second-teamer by Sports Weekly while Windsor was a second-team pick by
Collegiate Baseball.
Suzuki is on the verge of several records at Cal State Fullerton. His
.437 average this season is six points higher than the single-season record
and his .402 career mark is just two points off Mark Kotsay. Suzuki, the
Big West Conference Player of the Year, has slugged 16 home runs and driven
in 86 runs and needs just one more home run to practically lock up the
Big West Conference triple crown.
Windsor is 11-4 with a 1.84 ERA and his career 1.90 ERA is the best-ever
at Fullerton. He has hurled nine complete games and is 10-0 with a 0.94
ERA over his last 10 starts. He was named co-Big West Pitcher of the Year
with National Player of the Year Jered Weaver.
The Titans spent Thursday in Omaha preparing for their College World Series
opener against South Carolina on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CDT.
