Titans Hammer Pacific to Open Big West Play
April 8, 2004 -- Stockton, Calif.

Box Score

Clark Hardman had a career-high four hits and Jason Windsor pitched eight strong innings as Cal State Fullerton erupted for a 16-1 win over Pacific at Billy Hebert Field Friday night to open Big West Conference play.

The Titans improved to 17-16 overall and 1-0 in conference play with the win. Pacific dropped to 15-16 and 0-1.

Fullerton racked up season highs in runs and hits (23). Fourteen different Titans collected hits, with Kurt Suzuki picking up three and Danny Dorn, Sergio Pedroza, Brett Pill and Blake Davis each banging out a pair. Brandon Tripp and John Curtis each picked up their first collegiate hits. Suzuki had a pair of doubles and drove in three runs to extend his Big West Conference-leading total to 42 RBI.

The Titans plated seven runs in the third inning to put the contest out of reach, but added three runs in the fifth, one in the seventh and five in the ninth for good measure.

Windsor scattered six hits, struck out eight and walked just one in 8.0 innings to improve to 2-4. Scott Sarver pitched a perfect ninth to finish off the Tigers.

Fullerton and Pacific will meet again on Friday at noon.
