Romero Earns Summer All-American Honors Romero went 3-1 with a 1.57 earned run average and helped Team USA earn a gold medal at the World University Championships. In five starts he worked 29 innings and struck out 30. Cal Poly junior lefthander Garrett Olson was the only other Big West Conference player to gain the team. He was 9-0 for the Anchorage Bucs and made the first team.
