CSF Students Challenged to Help Fill Goodwin
Apr. 29, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton students are being challenged again to support their successful intercollegiate athletic teams when the Titans' defending national champion baseball squad hosts San Diego State on Tuesday (May 3) in a 5 p.m. game that will be televised live nationally on ESPN2.

The students were similarly challenged in February for the first home men's basketball game of the Spring Semester and the largest crowd in 12 years showed up in Titan Gym for an 84-74 victory over Idaho. All students with valid ID cards are admitted for free.

Community support to help fill the 3,500 seats at Goodwin Field also is being sought. A coupon good for 50 percent off all tickets that night will be available in the sports sections of the Sunday and Monday (May 1 & 2) editions of the Orange County Register. The Titans are averaging 1,855 fans so far this season.

Fullerton enters a weekend series at home against UC Santa Barbara with an overall record of 30-11 and an 8-1 mark in Big West Conference play. The Titans have been ranked No. 2 in the national polls for the past month.
