Freshman Roemer Named Pitcher of the Week
Apr. 4, 2005– Fullerton, Calif.

Freshman right-hander Wes Roemer (Glendora, Calif.) was named Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance against UC Irvine on Saturday night announced the conference office Monday afternoon.

Roemer, in just his second start of his career, stepped right into the Saturday spot (vacated by injured Ryan Schreppel) and took a shutout into the ninth inning before allowing a run and giving way to reliver Vinnie Pestano. Roemer scattered just six hits over eight complete innings while striking out six Anteaters without surrendering a free pass notching his first collegiate win. In his effort, Roemer held the opponent to a .206 batting average and lowered his ERA to 2.00 on the year.

Roemer joins teammates Scott Sarver (Mar. 1) and Ricky Romero (Mar. 8) as the other Titans who have earned recognition as Big West Pitcher of the Week.
