Turner Named Big West Player of the Week
March 22, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton’s junior second baseman Justin Turner (Lakewood, Calif.) earned Big West Player of the Week honors announced the Irvine-based conference office Tuesday morning.

Turner is coming off a superb weekend that saw him collect at least two hits in each of the three games with No. 9 Arizona. Turner finished with seven hits in 13 at bats (.538), driving in five while playing brilliant defense on the right side of the infield.

"Red" became the second Titan to earn a Player of the Week nod, joining fellow teammate Sergio Pedroza as the Titan position-player representatives. Pitchers Scott Sarver and Ricky Romero have earned Big West Pitcher of the Week honors in the past for their performances on the mound.
