Fare Well vs. Strong South Bend Field Jan. 31, 2004 – South Bend, Ind. The Titans compete in a five-team meet this weekend in Santa Barbara after a very successful trip last weekend to South Bend, Indiana. Competing against eight midwestern teams including three Top Ten squads (No. 1-ranked Notre Dame, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 7 Northwestern women), the Titans went 4-4. The Fullerton men's foil team was 6-2 including a 5-4 loss to the Fighting Irish. Individually, Rachel Liebing was 21-3 in women's sabre, Alex Decker was 20-4 in men's foil and Roland Breden was 19-5 in men's foil. Decker defeated two-time All-American Derek Snyder of Notre Dame, 5-4, and Christy Stewart defeated NCAA runnerup Andrea Ament of Notre Dame, 5-2, in women's foil.
