Places 13th at NCAA's Apr. 19, 2002 – Fullerton, Calif. Cal State Fullerton junior Kelly Mathiasen scored 39.025 to place 13th in the all-around at the NCAA Championships in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Thursday night. UCLA's Jamie Dantzscher, a U.S. Olympian, won the competition with a score of 39.675. Mathiasen's best individual event was the balance beam where her score of 9.85 tied her for ninth. Individual competitors had to finish in the top four to qualify for the individual event championships on Saturday. Mathiasen's other scores were 9.75 (23rd) on vault; 9.75 (19th) on parallel bars; and 9.675 (39th) on floor exercise. ####
