Cal State Fullerton freshman Brittany Hoffman finished third in the all-around
with a career-high 38.950 while senior Kelly Mathiasen finished third
on the vault and bars to pace the Titans to a second place finish in a
quad meet hosted by California on Sunday in Berkeley, Calif.
Fullerton finished with a 194.200 behind the Golden Bears' school-record
total of 196.375. Boise State finished third with a 193.650 and UC Davis
rounded out the field with a 187.175.
Aside from her all-around performance, Hoffman set a career high on the
balance beam with a 9.875 to finish second in the event. She also scored
a career-best 9.775 on bars.
Mathiasen tallied a 9.775 on vault and tied a season-high with a 9.875
on bars to place third in both events.
Two other Titans set career-highs on the day as freshman Quinn Nelson
had a 9.675 on vault, and freshman Kristen Weigandt set career bests on
vault (9.675) and bars (9.725).
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Friday (Feb. 21) as they travel
to Boise, Idaho, to take on the Broncos in a dual meet at 7p.m.
