The 2004 season came to an abrupt end for the Cal State Fullerton women's
gymnastics team as the Titans finished sixth out of six teams at the NCAA
Regional Championships hosted by Oregon State on Saturday night.
Oklahoma came away team champions, scoring a 197.100 to win the meet,
and will be joined at the NCAA Championships by Alabama, which finished
second with a 196.900.
The host Beavers finished in third place by the slimmest of margins, scoring
a 196.850 to finish just .050 behind the Crimson Tide. Boise State was
fourth with a 195.275, followed by California (195.175), and the Titans
(193.000).
Cal State Fullerton was led by freshman Erica Ficarotta, who finished
tied for 20th on bars (9.725) along with teammate Annette Reyes, tied
for ninth on floor (9.85), and 14th in the all-around (38.725).
Reyes also finished tied for 16th on floor with a 9.85.
