Nicole Lim Named Conference Athlete of the Week Jan. 28, 2004 Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton freshman Nicole Lim was named the Western Gymnastics
Conference's Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon after helping
the Titans to their first victory of the season last week.
Lim (Oakland, Calif./Cal West Gymnastics) scored a 38.975 to win the all-around
in a dual meet victory over league rival Boise State on Jan. 23, outdueling
BSU's Kea Cuaresma, who scored a 38.575.
In only her third career collegiate gymnastics event, Lim finished third
on vault (9.75) and balance beam (9.825) and finished tied for second
on floor (9.875) as part of a 1-2-3 sweep for Cal State Fullerton on the
apparatus.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action this weekend with a pair of meets.
The Titans travel to Cedar City, Utah, on Friday (Jan. 30) to take on
conference rival Southern Utah at 6 p.m. (PST). Fullerton then travels
to Westwood, Calif., on Sunday (Feb. 1) to take on defending NCAA champion
UCLA in a quad meet featuring Arizona State and San Jose State at 2 p.m.
