Boise State Bests Titans in Conference Competition

Cal State Fullerton sophomore Brittany Evans placed first on beam and tied for first on floor, but it wasn't enough as host Boise State defeated Cal State Fullerton in a Western Gymnastics Conference meet on Friday night in Boise, Idaho.

Boise State scored a 190.100 to the Titans' 187.950. Evans scored a 9.60 on beam to win the event and a 9.725 to tie Boise State's Lindsey Thomas for first on floor.

Fullerton sophomore Nicole Lim finished second on beam with a 9.575 while junior Brittany Hoffman finished third in the all-around with a 38.025.

Boise State was led by Thomas, who won the all-around with a 38.200, while the Broncos swept the top three spots on both vault and bars en route to the win.

Team Scores: 1. Boise State 190.1; 2. Cal State Fullerton 187.95.

All-Around: 1. Lindsey Thomas, BSU, 38.2; 2. Lindsay Ward, BSU, 38.15; 3. Brittany Hoffman, CSUF, 38.025.

Vault: 1. Carla Chambers, BSU, 9.825; 2. (tie) Kea Cuaresma, BSU, Lindsay Ward, BSU, 9.8.

Bars: 1. Katie Griffis, BSU, 9.75; 2. Lindsay Ward, BSU, 9.7; 3. Carla Chambers, BSU, 9.65.

Beam: 1. Brittany Evans, CSUF, 9.6; 2. Nicole Lim, CSUF, 9.575; 3. Lindsey Thomas, BSU, 9.55.

Floor: 1. (tie) Lindsey Thomas, BSU, Brittany Evans, CSUF, 9.725; 3. (tie) Carla Chambers, BSU, Lindsay Ward, BSU, 9.675.
