Beam Sweep Helps Southern Utah Hold Off CSF
Feb. 25, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.

Southern Utah swept the beam to hold off a strong finish on floor exercise by Cal State Fullerton as the Thunderbirds defeated the Titans, 191.825-190.925 in a Western Gymnastics Conference women's meet Friday night in Fullerton.

Leah Sakhitab scored a 9.775 to top teammates Rachel Tanner (9.725) and Jessian Andrus (9.675) and lead Southern Utah to a beam score of 48.300 in its final rotation. Meanwhile, the Titans were scoring 49.050 on floor led by Nicole Lim's 9.900, but it wasn't enough to overcome the lead Southern Utah had built after three events.

Brittany Hoffman (9.825) won the vault for Fullerton and Jaime Howe (9.575) of Fullerton and Andrus tied for first on the uneven parallel bars. Sakhitab won the all-around with a score of 38.625.
