White Sweeps Blue in Opening Scrimmage Oct. 26 Fullerton, Calif.
Assistant Coach Mark Maki's white squads won all three 15-minute "games"
over Coach Andy Newman's blue squads Sunday as Cal State Fullerton conducted
its first intrasquad scrimmages of the season. Most players played for
both teams as the White won 23-20,27-17 and 36-19.
Leading scorers on the day were freshman guard Bobby Brown with 22 points
and sophomore guard David Warsaw and senior center Babacar Camara with
18 poins each. Junior forward Hardy Asprilla had 17 points and 15 rebounds
to trail only Pape Sow, who had 16, in the carom department. Junior Brian
Pruitt and Camara each had 11 rebounds.
In the final game, the White hit 18 of 18 free throws including 9 of 9
by Warsaw.
Fullerton plays its first exhibition on Nov. 6 against Branch West.
