Holmes, Groomes Lost to Titans
Oct. 24– Fullerton, Calif.

Coach Bob Burton may have lost two veterans from last year's team in one day. Junior guard Ralphy Holmes, a first-team All-Big West Conference selection and the team's leading scorer, received a letter that expelled him from school due to a campus infraction that occurred last Spring. And forward Bron Groomes, who played in every game but one last year, was told his season and career may be over due to a severed tendon in his right hand suffered when a window was broken wjem someone tried to break into his apartment.

Burton was hired in June. He earlier lost two other veterans in forward Jamal Forcheney to academic problems and guard Fedi Holm-Hadulla to a career-ending knee injury. And sophomore-to-be Ron Allen, idled by Prop. 48, left during the summer for a community college.

Fullerton has an intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday and plays its first exhibiton on Nov. 6 against Branch West.
