Host Cal State Northridge won all nine matches on
the day, handing visiting Cal State Fullerton a 7-0 Big West Conference
women's tennis defeat on Wednesday afternoon in Northridge, Calif.
The match was a make-up after the scheduled meeting was rained on Feb.
12.
Cal State Fullerton fell to 2-5 overall with the loss, 0-3 in the Big
West Conference. Cal State Northridge improved to 4-2 overall.
The Matadors kicked off the match by sweeping all three doubles matches
to take an early 1-0 lead. The Titan duo of Adriana Hockicko and Carla
Rocha came the closest to tasting victory, falling 9-7 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, five of the six singles matches were won by Cal State
Northridge in straight sets as Hockicko lost in a tiebreaking third set,
10-2.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Tuesday (Feb.
25) as the Titans host LMU at 2 p.m.
