Idaho State Defeats Cal State Fullerton Tennis, 5-2 Apr. 2, 2003 Pocatello, Idaho
Host Idaho State won three of the first four singles matches on the afternoon
and rolled to its fourth consecutive victory with a 5-2 win over visiting
Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday in Pocatello, Idaho.
The Titans fell to 4-16 overall, having lost their last six consecutive
matches -- the last three by 5-2 scores. The Bengals improved to 9-4 overall
on the year.
Idaho State opened by winning the doubles point, winning at the No. 1
and No. 3 positions. Junior Adriana Hockicko and freshman Brittany Minna
won at No. 2 doubles, 8-6, for the Titans' lone victory.
The Bengals then finished the match off quickly, winning three of the
first four singles matches on the day to clinch the win. Junior Ioana
Sisoe defeated Armine Sarkavagyan, 6-3, 6-1, and Caroline Freeman defeated
ISU's Kristina Arutjunova, 7-5, ret., for the Titans' lone points.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Thursday (April 3) at noon when
the Titans travel to face Weber State in their final non-conference match
of the season.
