Khan Cruises to Singles Title Oct. 20, 2002– Fullerton, Calif. CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKETS: Singles 1 | Singles 2 | Doubles CONSOLATION BRACKETS: Singles | Doubles No. 1-seeded Uzma Khan of UC Santa Barbara cruised to the singles championship of the Cal State Fullerton Intercollegiate Tournament Sunday and also teamed with Ashley Maddocks to win the consolation bracket of the doubles competition. Khan beat Laura Thomas of Long Beach State in the semifinals, 6-1, 6-3, and then blanked Ann Claire Ortiz-Luis of Cal Poly Pomona, 6-0, 6-0, in the finals. In the doubles championship bracket, Danielle Hustedt and Kate Romm of Cal Poly SLO took first place by beating Michelle Beyronneau and Casey Cross of UC Riverside, 9-7. In the consolation brackets, Khan and Maddocks beat Dehlia Feliz and Michelle Rabinovich of Cal Poly Pomona, 8-2. In consolation singles, Cross beat Hui Leow of UC Irvine, 8-5.
