LMU Sweeps Cal State Fullerton, 7-0 March 27, 2003 Fullerton, Calif.

swept all nine matches on the day handing host Cal State Fullerton its
seventh loss in its last eight matches with a 7-0 victory at the Titan
Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon in Fullerton, Calif.
The Titans fell to 4-13 overall on the season while the Lions improved
to 8-7 overall on the season and have won seven of their last eight matches.
LMU swept all three doubles matches, but were forced to battle for each
victory. Fullertons Ruya Inalpulat and Ioana Sisoe were narrowly
defeated 9-7 at No. 1 doubles by the Lions Penka Fileva and Patrycia
Hubl. Adriana Hockicko and Brittany Minna lost 8-6 at the No. 2 spot and
Caroline Freeman and Jessica Martin lost at the No. 3 position, 8-5.
Singles play, however, produced different results as LMU dominated, winning
all six matches in straight sets. Only Inalpulat and Minna were able to
win four games in any one set for the Titans.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Saturday (March 29) at Noon as
the Titans host Pacific in a Big West Conference battle.
