Titans Fall to Rival 49ers in Season Finale April 11, 2003 – Fullerton, Calif.
Visiting Long Beach State swept all nine matches on
the day to hand host Cal State Fullerton a 7-0 defeat in the season finale
for both teams on Friday afternoon at the Titan Tennis Courts in Fullerton,
Calif.
The Titans end the regular season 4-19 overall and winless in conference
play at 0-8. Fullerton ended the year with losses in each of its last
nine matches. The 49ers improved to 13-7 overall and 7-1 in Big West play.
The 49ers easily won the doubles point, winning all three matches, and
dropping only nine games en route to the early 1-0 advantage. Long Beach
State then overpowered Cal State Fullerton in singles play, winning all
six matches in straight sets.
The Titans will next be in action at the Big West Conference Championships,
April 24-27, at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, Calif.
