Santa Clara Sweeps Singles to Beat Titans, 6-1
Feb. 8, 2003 – Fullerton, Calif.

A lone doubles point was all Cal State Fullerton could muster against Santa Clara on Saturday as the Titans were defeated, 6-1, by the Broncos on neutral courts in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The Titans fall to 2-3 on the season while Santa Clara moves to 3-1.

The No. 2 doubles team of Carla Rocha and Nicole LaBrucherie was able to defeat Santa Clara’s Jenny Siegel and Ashley Campbell. Adriana Hockicko and Brittany Minna were able to secure Fullerton’s point by beating the Broncos’ team of Mariko Kawakami and Pati Ruiz at the No. 3 spot.

Santa Clara, however, was able to easily take the match, by sweeping Cal State Fullerton in all six singles matches. None of the matches were pushed to a third set.

Fullerton will next see action when they to travel to take on Cal State Northidge on Wednesday (Feb. 12) at 1:30 p.m.
