San Francisco Sweeps Past Fullerton, 7-0 March 18, 2003 Fullerton, Calif.
Visiting San Francisco took two out of three in doubles
play and swept all seven singles matches to lead the Dons to a 7-0 shutout
of host Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday at the Titan Tennis Courts.
Cal State Fullerton fell to 3-10 overall on the season while San Francisco
improved to 12-3 overall on the year.
Adriana Hockicko and Ruya Inalpulat won the only match of the day in doubles,
defeating USF's duo of Michelle Duncan and Anna Skogerbee, 8-2, at No.
1. The Titans' Caroline Freeman and Jessica Martin almost made it two
wins, but fell short at No. 3 doubles, 9-7.
The Dons then won five of the six singles matches in straight sets with
the No. 4 singles contest going to a third set tiebreaker. In that match,
USF's Beate Bernhoft defeated Fullerton's Ioana Sisoe, 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Wednesday (March 19) at 2 p.m.
against Amherst College.
