Cal State Fullerton sophomore Ruya Inapulat and senior Ioana Sisoe each
earned spots on the 2004 All-Big West Conference teams as announced by
the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Inapulat posted a career-best 11 wins this season as a sophomore to earn
all-conference Honorable Mention honors after finishing her rookie season
with an 8-21 mark. Inapulat played the entire year at No. 1 singles, posting
a pair of three-match winnings streaks.
In doubles, Inapulat and teammate Ioana Sisoe earned all-conference honorable
mention honors, posting an 11-7 mark overall at the No. 1 spot. The duo
won eight of its first 11 matches and ran off four consecutive victories
at the end of march.
Cal State Fullerton finished the season with a 13-11 mark for the program's
first winning season since 1994-95. The Titans were the No. 8 seed in
the 2004 Big West Conference Championships, falling to No. 9 Cal State
Northridge in the opening round and defeating Utah State to clinch ninth
place.
