Cal Poly Downs Titans in 2004 Season
Opener Jan. 17, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.
Cal Poly won two of three doubles matches and four of its five singles
victories came in straight sets as the Mustangs defeated host Cal State
Fullerton, 6-1, on Saturday morning in the 2004 dual match season opener
for both teams.
The Titans fall to 1-1 overall on the year while Cal Poly improves to
1-0.
Sophomore Ruya Inapulat defeated the Mustangs' Samantha Waller at No.
1 singles, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8, for Fullerton's lone singles victory on the
day. The doubles pairing of Mai-Ly Tran and Carla Rocha won at No. 2 doubles,
9-8, defeated Cal Poly's Chelsy Thompson and Noelle Lee.
The Titans return to action on Feb. 3 as they play host to Chapman University
at 2 p.m. at the Titan Tennis Courts on campus.
