Sisoe, Inapulat Fall at ITA Tournament Oct. 24, 2003 -- San Diego, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton senior Ioana Sisoe and sophomore Ruya Inapulat were
eliminated from play in the main draw at the 2003 ITA Western Regional
Championships on Friday afternoon in San Diego, Calif.
Inapulat, who did not compete in the qualifying rounds on Thursday, fell
to Pepperdine's Natalie Braverman, 6-2, 6-0. Sisoe, who won her qualifying
match on Thursday to gain a berth into the main draw, fell to third-seeded
Maja Mlakar of Arizona, 6-0, 6-2.
The tournament was the final scheduled competition for the women's tennis
team for the fall season. The Titans open their 2004 spring schedule on
Jan. 17 with a home match against Big West Conference foe Cal Poly at
11 a.m. at the Titan Tennis Courts on campus.
