Pacific Hands Titans Second Straight
Loss Apr. 5, 2004 Fullerton, Calif.
Pacific rebounded from a 1-0 deficit after doubles play, sweeping all
six singles matches to hand host Cal State Fullerton a 6-1 defeat on Monday
afternoon at the Titan Tennis Courts.
The Titans fell to 11-8 overall on the season, 1-4 in the Big West Conference.
Fullerton won all three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. The
team of Nicole Arias and Gina Le won at No. 3 doubles, 8-2, while the
Nos. 1 and 2 teams had more difficult outings, but pulled out 9-8 and
9-7 victories, respectively.
However, singles play belonged to the Tigers, winning three of the six
in straight sets and emerging victorious in the other three to complete
the 6-1 win.
After 11 straight matches at home, Cal State Fullerton hits the road this
week at UC Riverside in the Titans' lone match. The match is scheduled
to begin at 1:30 p.m.
