Unseeded Chelsea Glynn of UC Santa Barbara was the star of the second
day of the Fall Intercollegiate women's tennis tournament at Cal State
Fullerton.
Glynn advanced to the singles semifinals where she will face No. 8-seeded
Ruya Inalpulat of Cal State Fullerton Sunday at 9 a.m. The winner
of that match advances to the noon finals against the winner of the other
semifinal match featuring No. 2 seeded Marielle Gruenig of UCSB and No.
3-seeded Silvia Gutierrez of Cal State Northridge.
Glynn also teamed up with Mio Fukushima in doubles to eliminate the No.
2 seeded team of Michelle Beyronneau and Casey Cross of UC Riverside (8-6)
in Saturday's quarterfinals. Glynn-Fukushima lost, however, in the
semifinals and it will be No. 1-seeded Izabela Mijic and Hui Leow of UC
Irvine vs. UCSB's Gruenig and Charlotte Scatliffe at 2 p.m.
