Reh Earns
Prestigious NCAA Post-grad Scholarship JULY 27, 2001 - Fullerton, Calif. Cal State Fullerton decathlete Steve Reh has been awarded a $5,000 postgraduate scholarship to the university of his choice by the NCAA. The award is the latest in a string of honors for the product of Damien High School in LaVerne, who placed third as a senior in the decathlon in the 2001 Big West Conference championship meet. Most recently the captain of the Titans' men's track and field team received the President's Associates Service Award for his contributions to the campus and university at the annual honors convocation in May. Reh graduated summa cum laude in business administration with a grade point average of 3.94 and an emphasis in finance. Reh also received the 2001 Southern California Sports Broadcasters Student-Athlete Scholarship Award. His volunteer work includes efforts on behalf of Ronald McDonald House, Children's Hospital of Orange County and the Orange County chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He also has tutored other student-athletes in mathematics and accounting. "My immediate plans are to attend the graduate school of management at UC Irvine in the Fall," said Reh. "I'm interested in financial planning, but I don't know yet if that's where I want to go for a career." Only 58 men and 58 women from around the country received this year's NCAA postgraduate scholarships. Recipients must begin using them by Aug. 15, 2004.
