Campbell Places 16th in Long Jump May 30, 2002 Fullerton, Calif.
Senior Brandon Campbell jumped 24 feet, 7 3/4 inches Wednesday to place
16th at the NCAA Track & Field Championshps in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Campbell still is hampered by a pulled hamstring muscle suffered four
weeks ago, but it should not affect him as much in the high jump, his
premier event, which will be contested on Saturday. The winner of the
long jump was Walter Davis of host LSU, who went 26 feet, 6 1/4 inches.
Campbell's best career jump is 25-10.
