Campbell Qualifies for Both Jumps at NCAA May 24, 2002 – Fullerton, Calif.
Senior Brandon Campbell will compete in both the high jump and long jump
for Cal State Fullerton at the NCAA championships next week in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.
Campbell learned Thursday night that he was the 21st and final qualifier
for the long jump with his season's best jump of 25 feet, 4 1/2 inches.
His Big West Conference championship high jump of 7 feet, 2 1/2 inches
earlier qualified him for that event. His personal bests and school records
are 25-10 and 7-4 1/2, respectively.
Competition begins Wednesday. He will be accompanied to LSU by Head Coach
John Elders and Assistant Coaches Ron Kamaka (high jump) and Mike Powell
(long jump).
