Three Titans, Relay Teams Shine at Mt. Sac Relays APRIL 22, 2002 Walnut, Calif.
Three Titan individuals and three relays teams placed at the prestigious
Mt. Sac Relays over the weekend with the men's 4x100and 4x400 relay teams
setting school records.
The highest finishes were a second place in the women's open triple jump
by Anna Doty, who went 39 feet, 10 1/2 inches, and by the men's 4x100
meter relay team, which ran 40.15 to place second in one section. Nick
McCullom, Fred Williams, Derek Brown and Brandon Campbell broke the old
mark of 40.41 and posted the best time of the season by a Big West Conference
school.
Although only finishing eighth, the men's 4x400 relay team of Brown, McCullom,
Campbell and David Ortega ran 3:10.46 to break the old mark of 3:10.81.
Other strong performances came from freshman Aaron Williams, fifth in
the invitational long jump at 24 feet, 7 inches; the women's 4x100 relay
team which was fourth in 48.50 in one section; and Campbell, who tied
for sixth in the invitational high jump at 6 feet, 10 3/4 inches.
