Women Make Biggest News at Ben Brown Invite
MARCH 9, 2002– Fullerton, Calif.

Lakeysha McClenton of host Cal State Fullerton set a school record in winning the women's 800 meters and USC's Inga Stasiulionyte set a stadium record to win the javelin and highlight Saturday's annual Ben Brown Track and Field Invitational.

McClenton ran 2:13.71 in the 800 while Stasiulionyte, the defending NCAA champion, threw the javelin 47.58 meters to break the record of 46.98 set by Kyla McFarland of Nevada on May 21, 1999.

Other Cal State Fullerton highlights included Anna Doty winning the triple jump and taking third in the long jump; the men's 4x400 relay team crossing the finish line first in 3:13.90; Aaron Williams taking second in the long jump at 7.32m, 24'0.25"; Cody Jones second in the triple jump at 14.8m, 48'06.7"; Ryan Gill third in the javelin at 62.5m, 205'01" and Pam Rogue running third behind McClenton in the 800 at 2:16.40
