Lanaro Wins First Two Mexican Meets
July 8, 2003 – Fullerton, CA


Cal State Fullerton senior-to-be Giovanni Lanaro (Valinda, CA, Mt. Sac JC) has posted a pair of victories in his first two pole vault competitions in Mexico as he attempts to make its national team.

Lanaro, who has dual U.S. & Mexican citizenship, cleared 17 feet, 4 1/2 inches (5.30 meters) to win at both Vera Cruz on June 29 and on July 6 in Carribean.

His next competition is Friday night in the 2003 Central American Championships to be held in Olympic Stadium in Mexico City where the 1968 Summer Games were contested.
